Commission duties: The Children's Services Council advises the Board of County Commissioners about children's issues in the County, assists with strategic planning for children and family services, and provides a forum to exchange ideas and promote partnerships among service providers and citizens and makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners on the status of children and families in Lake County. The Children's Services Council also makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners about the use of County grant funding following the request for proposal evaluation and review process.
Membership: 15
Member types: (10) Two members from each of the five County Commission districts
(3) Three at-large members
(1) Program administrator from the Florida Department of Children and Families
(1) Superintendent of Lake County Schools, or a named administrative designee
Term length: 2 years
Financial disclosure: Not required
Meeting times: Meets the third Wednesday each month at  9 a.m. (no meetings in July & December)
Meeting location: Lake County Agriculture Center Auditorium
