Lake County Public Works unveils 5,000 maps online
The Right-of-Way Section of the Lake County Department of Public Works, Engineering Division, recently released digital copies of 5,000 maps on the County’s Web site.

Wave of new Adopt-a-Lake projects aim to improve water quality on Lake Winona, Silver Lake
Tangible results from the new Adopt-a-Lake Program are starting to pour in as the Lake County Department of Environmental Utilities and volunteers are working on two water-quality improvement projects: one on Lake Winona in Clermont and the other on Silver Lake in Leesburg.

Fairgoers can dispose of household items at Green Fair
While the 60 exhibitors at the free Lake County Green Fair, scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 1, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Wooton Park in Tavares, will share with fairgoers a wealth of environmental information, the Fair will also provide an opportunity to dispose of some unwanted household items.

Parks & Trails sets up fee schedule for pavilion rentals
The Lake County Department of Public Works, Parks & Trails Division, is beginning to charge a nominal fee to rent a pavilion at Lake County’s parks.

Lake County to host State of the County event on Oct. 14
The Lake County Board of County Commissioners will host its annual State of the County presentation on Tuesday, Oct. 14, from 9 to 10 a.m. in the Commission Chambers, located on the second floor of the Lake County Administration Building at 315 W. Main St. in Tavares.
