Bulk items (appliances, furniture, electronics, etc.) will now be collected on yard waste collection days. Residents must call at least 24 hours in advance to set up the collection. Residents may call the County staff at 352-343-3776 or their garbage hauler to schedule the bulk collection.
Bulk items are still limited to 3 cubic yards once per week. Construction and demolition materials are limited to 2 cubic yards once per month.
Yard Waste will now have a 4 cubic yard limit. 4 cubic yards is equivalent to:
- 20 lawn and leaf bags (39 gallon), or
- 8 large (96 gallon) trash carts, or
- a pile 4.75 ft. X 4.75 ft. X 4.75 ft. (4’9” X 4’9” X 4’9”)
Any yard waste over the 4 cubic yards will be left until the following week.
All limbs must be no longer than 4 feet and cannot be greater than 6 inches in diameter and must be stacked neatly at the roadside. All leaves, grass clippings, vines, moss, etc., must be bagged or containerized. Bags, trash cans, and other yard waste containers cannot weigh more than 50 pounds.
It is recommended that yard waste be placed in trash cans or paper yard bags, but not required.
County Trash and Recycling Carts are not to be used for Yard Waste.
