TAVARES —Lake County Transit is announcing fixed route enhancements, new bus stops and a new transfer station beginning Monday, Oct. 29.
LakeXpress Route 4 will add service to the Umatilla Southside Community on northbound trips three times a day at 8:51 a.m., 12:51 p.m. and 4:51pm. The Altoona Post Office will be served three times a day at 11:09 a.m., 3:09 p.m. and 7:09 p.m.
New bus stops will be installed on Church Street at Orange Street and on Ball Park Road at Church Street. This service change will allow better access to services for the people living in the Southside Community of Umatilla.
The bus will travel along the following path from State Road 19 northbound.

Additionally, the Ardice Transfer Station, located at Ardice Avenue and Bay Street in Eustis, will replace the Lake Technical College Transfer Station beginning Oct. 29. The change will affect Routes 1, 3 and 4. The new station will allow three buses to pull completely off the road to pick up passengers near the Eustis Square Shopping Center, increasing safety by providing more space for both buses and passengers. Three shelters are planned for project. The Lake Technical College bus stop will continue to be serviced by Route 1.
LakeXpress operates from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday. Fares for LakeXpress are $1 for all trips. Half-fares are available for riders 60 years or older, students and individuals with disabilities (buses are equipped with lifts).
