Lake County to accept grant applications for Housing & Human Services programs
The Lake County Office of Housing & Human Services is requesting grant applications to provide as much as $25,000 in support of youth intervention/prevention programs and other human services programs. Grant applications will be accepted beginning Friday, April 16.

Public information meeting for Round Lake Road Widening and Extension project
The public is invited to learn about the Round Lake Road Widening and Extension project at an upcoming public information meeting on April 22 from 6 – 7:30 p.m. The public meeting will be held in person at the Mt. Dora Community Building, located at 520 N. Baker St. in Mt. Dora, 32757. However, participants may also attend via a virtual online or listen-only phone option.

State-supported immunization site at Lake Square Mall to open Saturday
Lake County will be accepting appointments for the Pfizer vaccine Saturday April 10 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Lake Square Mall immunization site. A second dose appointment will be scheduled on site for those receiving their first dose. Additionally, individuals who received their first dose and are due for their second dose may walk in without an appointment.

Lake County reminds citizens to fertilize with a slow release fertilizer this spring before summer blackout period
Lake County’s fertilizer ordinance is intended to help reduce nutrient-loading in urban landscapes by adding application restrictions while utilizing Florida-Friendly LandscapingTM principles. The ordinance, recommended by the Keep Lake Beautiful Committee and approved by the Board of County Commissioners in 2017, includes a summer time phosphorous and nitrogen application prohibition.
