Esther Catino – Esther is a Library Assistant I with the Library Services Division of Public Resources. Two patrons at Cagan Crossings Library expressed their appreciation for the assistance she provided them. In one instance she aided with downloading E-Books, and her patience and helpfulness were commended. In the other, Esther went above and beyond in locating an electronic copy of a unique study guide for the Florida teaching license exam. As both patrons declared, she is a wonderful and treasured employee.
Steve Gladwell – Steve is a Compliance and Monitoring Associate with the Code Enforcement Division of Conservation & Compliance. The Florida Nursery, Growers and Landscape Association thanked Steve for his hard work with the Lake County BCC/St. John’s River Water Management District Florida Water - Star training and testing program which was held on October 22, 2011. Due in part to his efforts with the planning and organization throughout the event, 15 new Florida Water Star Professionals received accreditation.
Stephanie Glass – Stephanie is a Teen Court Specialist with the Probation Division of Conservation & Compliance. In October, she received a letter from a teacher at Tavares Middle School expressing his sincere appreciation of her outstanding work with Teen Court. Because of her dedication and professionalism, many students have become involved with the Teen Court.
Ed Johnson and Matt Price – Lieutenant Johnson and Firefighter Price are both with the Fire Rescue Division of Public Safety. On September 24, 2011, they responded to a call in Sorrento where a patient passed away. The family wrote in thanking Johnson and Price for their dedication, professionalism and kindness in all they did to help them through the loss of their loved one.
Margaret Jones – Margaret is a Probation Specialist with the Probations Services Division of Conservation & Compliance. A citizen wrote to commend her on her friendliness and professionalism and how she is most definitely an asset to Probation Services. Additionally, Since July of 2011, the Pretrial Diversion program for which Margaret supervises has contributed over 7000 pounds of pet food to Animal Services in lieu of community service hours. This adds up to over $4000 dollars in much needed food to care for the animals at the shelter.
Amy Munday and Niki Booth – Amy is an Office Associate III with the Procurement Services Division, and Niki is an Office Associate V in the County Manager’s Office. Together they coordinated the 2011 Employee Holiday Luncheon. By organizing the catering and desserts and more, they made an enjoyable and memorable event for us all. Thank you for your dedication and hard work.
Ginny Romiti – Ginny is a Probation Officer with the Probation Services Division of Conservation & Compliance. Recently, she received letters from two of the clients assigned to her. Both thanked her for her encouraging words and understanding, and expressed their gratitude for her wisdom and advice.
Brian Sheahan, Sheila Short and Sheila Denoncourt – Brian is the Planning Division Manager, Sheila Short is a Senior Planner with the Planning Division and Sheila Denoncourt is a Senior Building Inspector with the Building Services Division of Growth Management. A citizen wrote in to the commissioners praising all three with their assistance on a project the citizen recently worked on. The citizen expressed his appreciation for Brian and Sheila’s help in understanding the site plan review process and landscaping requirements, and thanked Sheila Denoncourt for her knowledge of the Florida Building Code. As he said, “With folks like this working for Lake County, it is no wonder that we are becoming one of the most customer friendly counties in the state.”
Bobby Bonilla, Jason Armstrong, Dondre Collins, John O’Malley, Brian Ramsundarsingh, Belinda Ritner, Steve Yaw and Patti Young – Bobby is the Parks & Trails Division Manager with the Public Resources Department. Dondre is a Park Ranger, Jason, John, Brian and Steve are Trades Crew Leaders and Belinda and Patti are Park Attendants at North Lake Community Park in Umatilla. On Saturday, October 1, 2011, the Fitness Fair and North Lake Fun Run were held at North Lake Community Park. The Umatilla Chamber of Commerce wrote to express their sincere appreciation for the outstanding and generous support of the event, stating that “Bobby and his staff are more than accommodating and professional in providing support for their events.” The Chamber thanked them for their continuing partnership in promoting both the park and the communities of north Lake County.
