Saturday in the Garden speaker series begins at Agricultural Center

“Saturday in the Garden” is a new speaker series offered by UF/IFAS Extension, Lake County on the first Saturday of each month. The speaker series will feature an hour-long class on “Florida-Friendly Landscaping,” and will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 1 at the Lake County Agricultural Center, 1951 Woodlea Road, Tavares. 

“Participants will learn how to have a beautiful, low-maintenance landscape while protecting Lake County’s beautiful environment,” said Brooke Moffis, residential horticulture agent, who will present the program. 

Participants also are invited to explore the Discovery Gardens, a 3.5-acre habitat next to the Ag Center. The gardens are open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. the first Saturday of each month and attendance to the class is not required to visit the gardens.
