Summer Recipes @ Your Library
Lake County Library System patrons can download magazines for free from the new magazine subscription service, Zinio for Libraries! Now that summer is officially here, it’s a great time to take a look at these magazines for recipes for great summer food. The Food Network Magazine is America’s best-selling food magazine on newsstands—and every food lover’s essential handbook: Each issue is packed with star recipes and tips, behind-the-scenes scoops and fun, creative ideas for home cooks. This issue includes cool summer desserts and sides with 109 recipes and bonus recipes for 50 grilled steaks.

Every Day with Rachel Ray is packed with Rachael’s 30-Minute Meals, plus more recipes, menu planners, party ideas, tasty trips and Rach’s faves for style, home, and gotta-have gadgets. This month check out dinner outdoors, 29 recipes for the grill, 13 awesome kebob combos, and irresistible ice cream treats.

Martha Stewart Living brings you more of the ideas you want for organizing, entertaining, cooking, and decorating- all in one place. You can have the tastiest summer ever with 71 recipes including fried chicken, no-churn ice cream and 10 ways to make better burgers.

Additional resources for food and fun include: Family Circle “25+ Easy Summer Meals”; Good Housekeeping “Delicious Summer”; Saveur “Best Outdoor Cooking”; Taste of Home “Recipe for an American Summer”; Taste of Home Holiday “Patriotic Food & Fun”; Vegetarian Times “Best of Summer”; Weight Watchers “What to Eat This Summer”; Women’s Health “Summer’s Perfect Protein.”

The database is free for all library card holders and is now available on the library’s website www.mylakelibrary.org/virtual_library/zinio.aspx. Library staff are ready to assist patrons on how to access this service.
